There are several important factors to consider when choosing the right coupling. One of the most important factors is coupling stiffness, which depends on the material used and the shape. The stiffness of a coupling determines its ability to resist elastic deformation. A stiff coupling is desirable for certain types of applications, but it’s undesirable for others. Couplings that are difficult to service may not last as long. They may also require frequent maintenance. If that’s the case, consider purchasing a coupling with a low service factor.
